Personal Work in Unreal Engine

Lunar Enviroment Picture

Overview: I started learning the various tools in the Unreal Development Kit starting in 2012 but never did anything more serious until 2013, where I created a small prototype arcade game over the course of a few days and also a small enviroment over the course of 2 weeks in December.

Polycount Noob Challenge: Every month on Polycount.net there is a "Noob Challenge", challenging you to take on an enviroment based on a specific piece of concept art. The original thread can be viewed here.

The following is the final renders from UDK. I chose UDK becuase by the time I created the enviroment I had been learning it and knew quite a few of the tools to build the levels. It was an easy choice since the pipeline to get assets ingame is fairly quick and you can always easily see how your level will look ingame. I also tried to give the enviroment a strong horror feeling, as the concept art is from a horror based game called Routine.

I made this entire enviroment from scratch, the only thing used from UDK was the sun lens flare.

Prototype Arcade Game: The Arcade Game was a small game I built within UDK to get acquianted with Kismet and Unrealscript. I built the game over the course of a week while learning how to code weapons, add enemy controllers, player controllers and use kismet.   Download: Arcade Game Source and Packages
